About Better LMS

1. Who We Are

We are a small independent team of students and developers who use LMS platforms every day and believe that better tools lead to better learning experiences. Better LMS was created to fill a gap: a straightforward, honest directory where students can discover, compare, and learn how to use browser extensions that genuinely improve their LMS workflow.

We are not the official website, support team, or representative of any LMS platform (Canvas, Moodle, Brightspace, Blackboard) or any browser extension featured on this site, including the Better Canvas extension. We operate entirely independently.

2. Our Mission

Our mission is simple: help students get the most out of their learning management systems by surfacing the best community-built browser extensions, explaining clearly what they do, and providing honest guides on how to use them safely and effectively.

Better LMS covers browser extensions and tools for the four most widely used LMS platforms in higher education:

4. How We Evaluate & Curate Extensions

We only feature extensions that meet a basic bar of quality, safety, and usefulness. Our evaluation considers:

• User ratings and reviews 鈥?drawn from the Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons, reflecting real student feedback
• Transparency 鈥?open-source extensions or those with clearly documented permissions are preferred
• Usefulness 鈥?extensions that solve real, common student pain points
• Safety 鈥?we do not feature extensions with known privacy or security issues

Information on this site 鈥?including ratings, user counts, and feature descriptions 鈥?is sourced from the Chrome Web Store, Firefox Add-ons, and official extension documentation. We strive to keep it current, but always verify with the official store listing for the most up-to-date information.

5. How This Site Is Funded

Advertising revenue is what allows us to keep this site free, up-to-date, and independent. We do not charge users, sell user data, or accept payment from extension developers in exchange for featuring or recommending their tools. Our curation decisions are entirely editorial.
